THE ROOTS: WHERE IT ALL BEGINS

My story doesn't begin with me. It begins on the dusty roads of Ocaña, in the mountains of North Santander, in the fertile fields of Cesar, and in the scorching winds of they Guajira. There, my ancestors sowed the seeds of the destiny that, a century later, would bear my name.

The Barrero-Ávila and Matos-Lacouture families built the region, cultivated cotton, developed commerce, and sustained entire communities. My childhood in Codazzi was a school of life: work, honor, responsibility, and a deep love for the land. Everything I became afterward was born there.
